Clothes in Antarctica
—These are the different layers people wear when they go to Antarctica-
-Base Core Layer
—-Mid Insulation Layer
—-Outer Layer
—-Accessories
—Buildings on the stations are heated to around 18° Celsius, so normal clothes (jeans and
t-shirt) are worn. If your working on ice you would have to wear lots of
layers, which will be explained in the next few slides.

The base core layer
—The base core layer should be a comfortable and soft layer of clothing that will
take away the body sweat. It was invented for British Graham’s expedition to
Antarctica. The bottom base layer are Long Johns. They go under thick warm
pants that are waterproof.

Mid Insulation Layer
—The mid insulation layer is a choice, if it is extra cold and you need an extra
layer this is the one. The layer is made to take off and put back on. The layer is extra light so it is easily transported and is really portable.

Outer Layer
--The Outer layer needs to be windproof and may be waterproof. Waterproof is not necessary only for the rain but because of when you go into boats and want to stay dry.
Accessories
--Accessories include gloves which keep your fingers warm . You should wear a hat and keep a spare hat in your pocket. Definitely woollen socks to keep your feet warm. On the outside of the socks should be some boots. You should also wear some sunglasses to prevent you from glaring at the sum through the ice.
